I've decided to make a difference that REALLY matters

hello friends!today is a sad day for me, as seven months have gone by since my mother passed away after a decades-long fight with breast cancer..

because the witnessing/preaching/teaching work doesn't make any sense to me anymore; because it's not about any "truth"; and because it's basically useless, i've decided to quit doing it.

instead, i've decided to do something that actually can make a real difference in other people's lives.

Because the witnessing/preaching/teaching work doesn't make any sense to me anymore; because it's not about any "truth"; and because it's basically useless, I've decided to quit doing it.

Instead, I've decided to do something that actually can make a real difference in other people's lives. Today I went to the hospital where my mother passed away and enrolled in their volunteer program. Surely this is much more practical way to help others. I feel happy with this move and I know I'll feel incomparably more accomplished than by recruiting others to the JW cult.

i remember seeing the ex-jws parading around outside the assembly like lepers holding placards of hate.

we were the righteous and enlightened ones... and they were lost in outer darkness.

just dont look at them was the standard response to their unwelcome presence..

I'm just starting my fade, and I'm beginning to feel enraged and outraged with this religion. They have conditioned me during my upbringing, namely in what regards to how I valued education. I left school at 15 to become a regular pioneer because Armageddon was nigh, and I did so for the next 10 years. Nowadays I see how much I needed further education, because I'm limited in my skills. I also feel angry and disgusted with the "seven magnificent ones" of the GB for their hypocrisy, for lying to me, for brainwashing people like me.

However, I think it's wrong to direct my anger against the single JWs, because they are as victims of this cult as I have been. The best way to get back at them is to learn 'the truth about The Truth', know their game, and lead a happy life away from them. That's what I intend to do.

It was great to read your replies, thank you! Your experiences have been eye-openers to me. Perhaps fading for too long and too gently ends up being counter-productive, because that way I'll never get rid of them. So I'll be getting more straightforward soon.

My fleshy sister is seriously getting to my nerves. She's my only (and younger) sister, and as you know, is married to an uber-Circuit Overseer.

Since I went back in, she developed the annoying habit of, every time she phones me, asking: "Have you been to the mid-week meeting? Have you been to the weekend meeting? Have you been out in the field service? Have you seen this month's broadcasting? Have you seen my email with the photos...? Aren't they wonderful? Doesn't it look like we're already in paradise? blah blah blah...." It's nauseating and I'm going slightly mad with it.

A few days ago, I freaked out.

To her great surprise, I chastised her on the phone, said I wouldn't tolerate anymore that sort of questioning, that attempt to control my life, and that she had no business in prying into my life. She got silent, and I knew she was perplexed. She was babbling ... "What is this now?". Was this enough for her to stop her inquiries? Yes, but....

She didn't waste any time taking advantage of her position and influence, and I'm positive that she went around my back calling Bethel, and spoke with the sister that gave me the 'recovery study', that happens to be the wife of our COBE and a member of the branch committee. As a result, now I have a group of zealous sisters from the congregation suddenly all over me, like a swarm of bees, pressuring to make arrangements to go out with me in the field service, even calling me on the phone past 10 pm! I imagine that my dear fleshy sister might have told the Bethel sister something along these lines : "She's just spent two weeks vacation with her "big bad wolf" apostate husband [EdenOne] and her inactive son! Two weeks without meetings and preaching! What bad influences she must have been exposed to! We MUST help her NOW!"

Help!!!!! Get me out of this cheap B movie.

I've decided that next time I attend meetings, I'll arrive late and leave early from the KH, so to avoid most of these unwanted contacts. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Today's meeting & WT 7/2015 study "Work to enhance the spiritual paradise"

so, much against my inclination, i went to the meeting this sunday morning.

just starting to fade, but i needed to do it so that it doesn't look like my hubby turned my head during last week's vacations.

since i'm not just disappearing cold turkey, i went.

So, much against my inclination, I went to the meeting this sunday morning. Just starting to fade, but I needed to do it so that it doesn't look like my hubby turned my head during last week's vacations. Since I'm not just disappearing cold turkey, I went. Argh.

I have no idea what the public talk discussed; the entire time my head was focused on the 28 degrees celsius outside, sunny sky, and how much I would rather be on the beach.

During the Watchtower study, something caught my eye. Paragraph 16 reads:

16 Think, too, of more recent adjustments, such as the changes in appearance, contents, and methods of distribution of our publications. What a pleasure it is to offer practical, appealing, and attractive literature in the ministry! And when we use the latest technology to spread the truth, such as by means of the jw.org website, we reflect Jehovah’s interest in providing people everywhere with the guidance most of them lack but so desperately need.

The words "Jehovah's Interest...in people" caught my eye. How is the so-called interest expressed? By providing "guidance" that people "so desperately need".

Really??

Tell that to the many thousand refugees who flee Africa and the Middle East towards Europe, trying to escape from poverty, war, and unspeakable suffering in their homelands. Tell that to those who are dying daily trying to cross the Mediterranean sea in overloaded boats who capsize and sink, to those who are dying asphyxiated inside packed trucks because of those who profit from human traffic; tell that to the little children who drown and are awashed into european beaches. Do these people need Jehovah's "spiritual guidance"?? Do they need to access a religious website to improve their lives?

Or, instead, do they need food, drink, clothes, shelter, work, education and freedom FIRST? What kind of work is that of the JWs, who simply sell a paradise that never comes? They need help NOW!

Does the fact that our publications 40 years ago were black and white and now are full color and "appealing" constitute an invaluable "practical help" for those in dire need? Sure, let them eat and drink our magazines and make covers from our "attractive literature". The only work it will generate for them is when they get a job to clean the strets from that trash.

Sorry for the rant. It really got to my nerves. Btw, with my hubby's help, I'm reading CoC now.

I intend to fade from the Org. progressively, but firmly. I love my freedom and right now I feel suffocated. I've been looking at jwfacts.com and I'm blown away with the lack of love, the hypocrisy, and the arrogance of the leadership. The Malawi vs. Mexico shocked me terribly. Are we murderers??

Like you said : "Facts are what should guide you whether this is the true religion or not".

In the recent past, due to my mother's passing, they played with my emotions and sucked me back in. They surrounded me from all sides, as they do so well, and I caved in. Now, however, with all this information that I'm learning about, and with hubby's help, I belive the outcome will be very different.

I need your input;

I had this idea; I'lll use the fact that I'm bipolar as an excuse. I'll start missing some of the meetings and I'll say that I don't feel ok, that I feel sick.

I'll start to fade from the meetings and field service.

Is that a good strategy?

Hello everyone, and thank you for your welcome.

For the time being Eden is helping me with the english language and the handling of this website, so please bear with me.

i feel that this time I'm taking a firm resolution to leave the Organization, and I am feeling the full wheight of the pressure building up around me - and I even haven't started to really fade yet. So I need all the support and help that I can get, and the experience of my husband with this community made me want to come here as well.
